It has been more than a year since the events in the Bayou. Chad is now a Sophomore at St Francis Xavier (aka Xavier) University in San Francisco, well on his way to becoming a Jesuit Deacon. Kara has also enrolled there and is studying classical languages. Meanwhile, Leo is a student at Stanford where he is leading a research team on artificial intelligence. While Chad has started a new chapter in his life, there are still unresolved issue from the past. Chad’s dad decides a trip to Rome is just what the family needs. As they embark upon their summer travels, Chad’s powers grow, as does the threat against him. He must confront a powerful cult seeking to open a gateway to the underworld and unleash an ancient evil upon the world. With the help of his mentors and allies, he prepares for the ultimate battle between good and evil.
